Delaware is Going to the Dogs

Delaware has numerous dog parks across the state with many located in our Active Adult Communities.

Dogs are demanding equal treatment and theyre getting it all across Delaware. Whether its taking the dogs to dinner, outside, or arranging playdates in the local dog park, dogs are everywhere.

Touring Some Delaware Dog Parks

Today, were going to take you on a tour of some of the dog parks you can find in our Delaware towns and municipalities as well as dog parks located in many of our Active Adult Communities. Leading the way is Marla and her owner Amy Kellenberger.

Millsboro Dog Park: The park is on town-owned property off Wilson Highway near Brandywine Village Apartments a short walk from the Millsboro Civic Center and Town Hall hub. It opened in the spring and is available daily from dawn to dusk. It features two spacious, fenced-in run areas, one for large canines over 30 pounds and another for smaller dogs.  https://delawarestatenews.net/outdoors/millsboro-dog-park-up-and-running/

Lewes Unleashed Dog Park: Located in the "Great Marsh Park" near the wind turbine, just off Great Marsh Circle. The park is fully fenced including a general play area for all dogs, an area for small and elderly dogs plus an area for agility training. This is a private membership dog park supported by many in the Greater Lewes area. https://www.lewesunleashed.org/

Glasgow Park: There is a dog part at Glasgow Park and an annual Pets in the Park event. https://www.nccde.org/1537/Glasgow-Park

Charles Price Memorial Park: Located across the street from Deep Creek on Levels Road features a 5-acre dog park. Tidbit of info: Charlie Price was the mayor of Middletown for many, many years.  They honored him with this park. http://www.middletownde.org/Parks-and-Rec/
