At the start of 2024, I decided to put my condo up for sale. My initial plan was to move to a 55+ community and in March, I met my realtor, Ron Mercante. We went to see a few places and then it really took off. Like everything, you need to be comfortable with people you are dealing with and with Ron, it was natural. It was more like a friendship than a working relationship. Back in December, I sold my condo and was anticipating in purchasing a condo in the community that i initially liked, however that fell through, at no fault of Ron or Active Adults Realty. This happened at the beginning of 2025 and once i slept on it, I began the search and started to look for things outside of 55+ since there were more options in New Castle County. Ron jumped on a few listings that i sent him and he managed to get a few showings for us, for the following day. I was very surprised at how quick he made that happen, and forever grateful. I saw one condo that I liked, but it was only 1 BR, 1 BA and i wanted 2 and 2. The second place we looked, had just that, in Mermaid Run. I liked what I saw and didn't hesitate to make an offer. Since i bought my first condo as a first time home buyer in 2004, this was my first home purchase in a little more than 20 years, so i was a little nervous. Ron was exceptional in breaking things down for me to explain them in "non realtor" verbiage, which i appreciated and understood. In the end, my offer was accepted and we went to the settlement table on 1/24/25. I was absolutely impressed with the communication between Ron and Joann. Helping a family member sell their DE home and was referred to Amy Kellenberger of Active Adults. Amy and Joann were incredibly responsive as well as accommodating (I live in NJ) the entire process. Most of the DE homes in the area had been on the market for several months. Amy and her team jumped into action on short notice and had showings within a few days and offers in a few days. Active Adults handled all aspects of the transaction, working with the buyer's agent and followed through every step of the way.
