Pickleball is all the rave across Delaware where more communities are adding designated pickleball courts or additional lines to tennis courts to meet the increasing demand of players.
Pickleball has come to Delaware and now you can find pickleball matches happening in many communities up and down the state. For many years tennis courts were underused but this has now changed. Many communities have multiple tennis courts where active adults can now choose to play tennis or the ever popular pickleball. Numerous new communities are being built with pickleball courts included in their amenities package. Pickleball is one of the most popular growing sports among all ages and if you havent played you must give it a try.

What is Pickleball & Why the Game is Loved
Pickleball is a game of pleasure for all ages which has been around since the mid-1960s. One of the founders of pickleball, Barney McCallum, shares an interesting story of how the game got its start in Bainbridge Island, Washington.
The game is ideal for anyone of any size or any age. You dont have to be particularly fit or muscular to play. All paddle serves are made underhanded. The ball is a bit larger and heavier than a Wiffle ball which makes it travel a bit slower as it progresses through the air. Playing pickleball offers a unique feeling on the court.
Finding Pickleball Courts Across Delaware
As people have moved from state to state they have brought this beloved game with them. As the demographics of Delaware has shifted to bring more retirees to nearby communities the game has been introduced and has soared in popularity.
Its hard to play pickleball and not have a good time. Now when you pass by a tennis court that once was empty for weeks or months on end, you are more likely to notice people playing pickleball on the court. Rotating onto different courts and playing with different people makes for a fantastic sport to develop new friendships between rounds.
A pickleball court has two sets of extra lines added to the usual lines found on a tennis court. The following communities have added the necessary lines to their tennis courts or built pickleball courts.

Joining Pickleball Clubs and Organizations
One of my clients told me the best way to keep updated about clinics and opportunities to play is by joining the clubs and organizations.
