A few weeks ago I blogged about restaurants across Delaware where you can make a reservation for a fine Thanksgiving dinner and avoid the significant preparation and clean-up. Today, I'm thrilled to post about restaurants that also offer carry-out options for those of us who don't want to do the cooking but do want to lay out a nice spread for family and friends. Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26, and here are the places I've learned about as of today.
IN NEW CASTLE COUNTY
Big Fish Grill on the Riverfront in Wilmington will offer full Thanksgiving meals for several people and individual dinners as well, for pickup on Thanksgiving Day. You'll need to place your order by 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 19.
Aunt Berta's Kitchen in New Castle offers fabulous soul and comfort food year-round but goes especially big on Thanksgiving. Click the link to learn about all the fixins.
Cantwell's Tavern in old Odessa is a favorite for Colonial-themed dining but also offers a wonderful carry-out selection for Thanksgiving. Check out the menu and ordering instructions on its site.
322 BBQ in Wilmington is a meat-lover's paradise year-round, but especially this time of year. Order by Monday, November 23, for pickup on Wednesday, November 25.
IN KENT COUNTY
Brick Works Brewing & Eats in Smyrna is a great option if you only need one or two servings or enough to feed the neighborhood. Its Thanksgiving heat-and-eat dinners are available for pickup on Wednesday, November 25.
IN SUSSEX COUNTY
The Nook in Milton is renowned for its specials all year and is another great option for Thanksgiving carry-out. Scroll through its Facebook page to learn about the menu.
Bethany Blues in Lewes and Bethany Beach will also offer amazing Thanksgiving dinners. Call either location to preorder.
Big Fish Grill in Rehoboth is a local favorite, with complete family and individual meals, side dishes and desserts. Orders for Thanksgiving week pickup must be placed by 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 19.
The Clubhouse at Baywood in Millsboro is another local favorite for specials year-round. It will serve a Thanksgiving Day buffet, and its Thanksgiving carry-out is ready for pickup on Wednesday, November 25, from 3 to 6 p.m.
Brick Works Brewing & Eats' Long Neck location will offer Thanksgiving heat-and-eat dinners, for pickup on Wednesday, November 25.
Harvest Tide Steakhouse in Lewes and Bethany will also offer Thanksgiving spreads to go for pickup on Thanksgiving Day, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., if you order by Monday, November 23.
The Cottage Cafe in Bethany will also offer Thanksgiving to-go, for pickup on Wednesday, November 25.
Another local favorite, DiFebo's in Bethany, is now taking pre-orders for a full Thanksgiving dinner to carry out. Call the restaurant to place yours.
The Market at 59 Baltimore in Rehoboth has also just opened pre-orders for its Thanksgiving sides and desserts.
The Children's Beach House in Lewes also offers a wonderful Thanksgiving carry-out menu, with proceeds supporting a variety of programs at the Beach House.
Birdhouse Milton will also offer carry-out meals and sides. Follow their Facebook page for updates on the offerings and pickup times.
