Love Thanksgiving, Hate the Dishes? Book These Dining Spot Out

Thanksgiving is about seven weeks away, giving you plenty of time to shop for all of your favorite menu items, invite your guests, decorate your house, and plan a strategy for cleaning up after one of the most labor-intensive dinners of the year.

But what if you don’t want to deal with the cooking, shopping, and cleaning—and are more intrigued by the idea of dressing up and being treated to a fine, stress-free dining experience?

If that’s the case, you’re in luck. Many restaurants all over Delaware are open on this wonderful holiday, though most book up quickly and require reservations made well in advance. Here are some of the top highlights across the state:

 

IN SUSSEX COUNTY

Lewes

  • Harvest Tide Steakhouse will feature a lavish buffet priced at $59.95 for adults and $19.99 for children. 

  • The Wheelhouse at Fishermen’s Wharf offers waterside dining with a buffet priced at $45.99 for adults and $18.99 for children. 

  • Also located at Fishermen’s Wharf, Irish Eyes will be serving a holiday buffet. 

  • Crooked Hammock Brewery, a family favorite, is offering a Thanksgiving buffet priced at $39 for adults and $19 for kids. 

  • Located between Lewes and Rehoboth, Saketumi will feature its full array of Asian dishes, including sushi!

Milton

Rehoboth Beach

  • Big Fish Grill will offer a lavish buffet alongside seafood specialties and carry-out options. 

  • Salt Air, a local favorite, will present a special Thanksgiving menu alongside many of its regular popular items. 

  • Victoria’s Restaurant at the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel will offer oceanfront dining with a variety of Thanksgiving dishes. 

Millsboro

 

IN KENT COUNTY

  • The Smyrna Diner (Smyrna) will feature its classic comfort food options on Thanksgiving Day. 

  • Grey Fox Grille (Dover) is currently leaning toward opening on Thanksgiving Day. I’ll post an update next week, but in the meantime, you can learn more about this wonderful downtown spot.

 

IN NEW CASTLE COUNTY

Wilmington

  • The Columbus Inn is serving a traditional family-style dinner ranging from $44 to $86 per person. 

  • The Marshallton Steakhouse will feature a full Thanksgiving menu alongside other restaurant favorites. The menu is still being finalized, but you can reserve your spot.

  • Harry’s Savoy Grill will serve its stylish Thanksgiving fare alongside its signature seafood dishes. 

  • Le Cavalier will feature upscale holiday offerings in an elegant setting, beginning at $75 per person. 

  • The Big Fish Grill on the Wilmington waterfront will put seafood front and center alongside traditional Thanksgiving offerings, featuring a buffet priced at $52.95 per person.

  • If you love historic Colonial settings, consider Jessop’s Tavern in Historic New Castle or Cantwell’s Tavern in Odessa.
