The First State of Adventure: Spring Day Trips in Delaware

It’s now easy to see and feel Spring just over the horizon, with more daylight and gradually rising temperatures. A lot of us will spend the early days of the season tending to our gardens and yards, enjoying the evolution of nature, and exercising outside again.

But we’re also going to be ready to take some day trip adventures!

One of the best things about Delaware is our small size, which puts diverse destinations within an easy drive. If you moved to Sussex County to be near the ocean and bay beaches but are yearning for some culture you can drive less than two hours to Wilmington to see wonderful theatre and experience fine museums and spend the night in a lovely hotel. Likewise, if you’re up in New Castle County it’s easy to get down to those beaches, and enjoy cool spots like Dover Air Force base and Dover Downs on the trip South.
