I’m pretty sure I’d break the Internet if I tried to write one blog post about all of the festivals taking place in coastal Delaware this summer because there are so many. Bethany Beach Seaside Craft Show – June 1st in Bethany
This is a juried craft show sponsored by the Bethany Beach Cultural and Historical Affairs Committee. It’s the 18th year for the show, which features an astounding array of pottery, wood and glass items, wearable art, fiber and leather, jewelry and a lot more – plus live music by the Joe Biaone Trio. Mid-Atlantic Sea Glass & Coastal Arts Festival – June 1st and 2nd in Lewes
This is a very popular event showcasing sea glass from the Atlantic Ocean and bays, featuring all kinds of crafts and jewelry along with engaging programming about shipwrecks, sea glass identification, ocean and bay conservation and more. It takes place at the scenic Lewes Historical Society Campus right downtown and just a few blocks from Lewes’ outstanding restaurants and other cultural attractions. Coastal Delaware Restaurant Week – June 2nd through 7th
You can enjoy gourmet discounted and price fixe meals at more than 20 restaurants near the beaches during this annual event. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the military and first responders. There are a lot of local favorites on the list, including Touch of Italy in Lewes and Rehoboth, Bluecoast and The Blue Moon, The Cultured Pearl and Café Azafran. June Jam Music Festival – June 15th in Houston
G&R Campground will be the site for this festival, featuring 7 bands on 2 stages and room for folks who are camping as well as those who just want to come by for the tunes. The bands include National Anthem, Trailer Park Casanovas, Nite Train, Nothin but Trouble, Stone Jack Ballers, Raffles 50/50, Tommy Conwell, Pistol Whipped and Shoot to Thrill. Lavender & Lambs Festival – June 15th in Millsboro
Celebrate agriculture and Delaware history at this event, featuring colonial interpreters from the Lewes Historical Society, who will conduct demonstrations of wool dyeing and yarn spinning. You can also experience the many different ways of utilizing lavender and enjoy live music, ice cream from The Frozen Farmer, pony rides, face painting, farm and craft vendors, food trucks and wine from Salted Vines and beer from Revelation Brewery. Lewes Garden Tour – June 15th in Lewes
This is the 33rd year for this very popular self-guided tour of private gardens at many new and historic homes along with a Garden Market at Zwaanendael Park. Juneteenth Celebration – June 25th in Lewes
This is a wonderful event for your whole family and a great way to celebrate African American culture with live music, history lessons, dance and spoken word performances, food trucks and a lot more.
