Fort Delaware State Park - July 15th - 10am

Join us for our biggest event of the season! Fort Delaware was built for the nation’s defense, but served as a prisoner-of-war camp during the Civil War. On this special weekend we'll highlight the experience of captured Confederate soldiers. See the prisoner in-processing procedures, mail call and speak to the incarcerated rebels about their experience of the war.

South Coastal Library - July 19th - 10am - 11am

Say Hello to History! Witness as the seasons change on a lighthouse in the middle of the sea. Our littlest learners will have a chance to design their own paper lighthouse to take home using colorful stickers. This program is recommended for our younger patrons ages 6 and under.

Delaware State Fair increases security efforts for 2023

Delaware State Fair

The Delaware State Fair has worked with local and state law enforcement to develop increased security that will be unveiled at the 2023 fair.

The development and installation of increased security cameras, fixed security bollards, increased police staffing, and walk-through metal detectors will play key roles in increasing security efforts as the fair prepares for 300,000 guests to visit Harrington Thursday, July 20, to Saturday, July 29.
