Over the past couple of weeks Ive done posts on gardening and spring cleaning and de-cluttering, both of which can be rewarding even though they can also qualify as hard work depending on how much digging you have to do or how chaotic your closets have become.
Today Im thinking about another spring time activity that tends to be a lot more fun acquiring beautiful and functional things that add value and pleasure to your home.
One way to get that vibe going is to visit the 2023 Home Expo on Saturday, April 15th from 9 to 4 and Sunday, April 16th from 10 to 3. Held at Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes, its going to feature more than 90 exhibitors. Youll find representatives of building companies, mortgage, finance and insurance firms and lots of companies offering all kinds of furniture and decorative arts for your home.
The timing is good since a lot of people move into new homes around this time of year, with a greater array of design and dcor furnishings compared to the challenges we all faced during the Covid epidemic and the supply chain problems that followed.
Cape Henlopen is also a great spot for the expo because there are so many wonderful new communities being built and growing into fine neighborhoods all around Sussex County (its also an easy drive if you want to take a fun road trip from upstate or central Delaware.
The events sponsors will be familiar to a lot of locals. They include Clean Cut Pavers & Pools, Coastal Bath Co., Energize Delaware, Delaware Retiree Connection, Forrest Fence, Patio Systems, Soaring Solar and Julie Gritton-Coldwell Banker.
Food will be available at the Expo both days, but youll also be within a short drive of several wonderful restaurants in and around downtown Lewes.
Of course this will be a great place for generating design ideas and finding the companies and services that can bring them to life, but Ive also found some other online resources that might help you personalize your home with things you love.
