Peter and Janet Ripley of Milton, Delaware are our Featured Boomers
The Ripleys, believe it or not, relocated from Pittstown, New Jersey, where Peter was a plumbing tech and Janet, a financial analyst.
The Ripleys chose Milton, Delaware for their new address after considering relocating to Collegeville, Pennsylvania. They made the Meadows of Beaver Creek their new neighborhood on December 16, 2016, citing the importance of being close to family, Delawares low property taxes and the abundance of activities offered in Coastal Delaware as the most important factors in their Delaware relocation decision.
Peter and Janet were looking for a small community in a nice town. We wanted to be about 30 minutes from our daughter and her family, who live in Camden, Delaware and have a beach house in Ocean View. We are (perfectly) located between both places. We also wanted a place with awesome recreational activities like biking, walking and kayaking.
Since becoming Locals Now, Peter is working and meeting locals and vacationers at Bests ACE Hardware in Milton and Janet is enjoying retirement.
Avid hikers, the Ripleys, have hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, hiked Mt. Washington in NH, most of the High Peaks around Lake Placid and most of Acadia National Park in Maine. We both love biking, walking and kayaking and have a lots of new places to explore.
So whats on Peter and Janets Bucket List? While they are still working on a plan, Peter will look forward to deer hunting season and getting his fishing-on, while Janet gets into yoga class and does some line dancing. We still want to do some traveling! We would also like to do some volunteer work and are considering Habitat for Humanity.
