The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the U of DE Gives Boomers the Opportunity to Learn, Travel and More!
This month, we are highlighting The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Delaware in Lewes (OLLI-Lewes), a non-profit, self-governing, cooperative education community that promotes and provides intellectual, cultural and art-of-living learning experiences in a supportive social environment for mature active adults in Southern Delaware under the aegis of the University of Delaware's Professional and Continuing Studies.
OLLI-Lewes are membership organizations that provide opportunities for adults 50 and over to learn, teach, and travel with their peers. There are no academic requirements for admission. The only requirements are your interest in a continuing educational experience, support of the programs through participation, and the modest membership fee. Classes are conducted in the Fred Thomas Building at 520 Dupont Avenue in Lewes, as well as other locations in Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, and Ocean View. More information and the current OLLI-Lewes catalog are available at www.lifelonglearning.udel.edu/lewes.

The mission of this lifelong learning program is to operate a self-governing, cooperative educational community that fosters, promotes, and provides intellectual, cultural, and art-of-living learning experiences in a supportive social environment for mature active adults in Southern Delaware.
According to Lynn Kroesen, OLLI-Lewes Communication Chair, In 1989, the University of Delaware established the Southern Delaware Academy of Lifelong Learning. In 2010 the Academy received endowment support from the Bernard Osher Foundation. In recognition of that support, we joined similar organizations in 49 other states and became the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Delaware in Lewes (OLLI-Lewes).
