The Food Bank of Delaware Needs Support Filling 2,500 Thanksgiving Meal Boxes
Help make the holiday season bright for families in need this year. To help fill the boxes, theFood Bank of Delaware, the hunger-relief organization, is asking for the publics assistance in making sure that no Delawarean goes without a holiday meal this season.
The FBD asks for the communitys assistance in collecting food items and monetary donations in order to create the 2,500 Thanksgiving meal boxes for families in need.
Through the Thanksgiving For All holiday box distribution, eligible 501(c)3 organizations in New Castle and Kent counties will have an opportunity to pick up 25 free meal boxes from the Food Bank of Delaware for families in need. Organizations located in Sussex County, should contact Mountaire Farms Thanksgiving for Thousands distribution; http://www.mountaire.com/thanksgiving/.
Food for the Thanksgiving boxes must be received by Friday, November 13. Food received after that time will be distributed to the Food Banks network of Hunger-Relief Program Partners.
Businesses, schools, faith-based organizations and other community groups have organized food drives throughout the holiday season. In addition to hosting food drives, donations are also a helpful way to collect much-needed funds to purchase food.
