Renting Before You Buy
We often get contacted by people who would like to try living in Delaware before they make a decision to buy. Im sure this is the case when people anywhere are thinking of a major relocation, especially when they retire. No matter how compelling the reasons to consider moving to Coastal Delaware, first you need to get to know the area to find out how you like it.
Can we rent a home in a 55+ community in Delaware?
But here is the challenge, we do not have a supply of rental homes or condos in the new active adult communities. Sure, there may be one or two but there is no inventory of homes available for rent in the same community you are thinking of buying. It is purely hit or miss and whenever we have had one available for rent it has gone quickly.
How do I know if I will like it?
We often start working with our clients several years before they need to make a decision. They will come for a few days or a week at a time and we show them around. Often, we become good friends by the time they have made a purchase decision. We get to introduce them to good restaurants, local events and even the best place to buy wine. What about the Multi-List for Rentals in Delaware?
When you search homes for sale on our web site, you will find listings of all homes for sale, regardless with whom they are listed. Did you know that? Unfortunately, that was not the case with rentals. Especially in Coastal Delaware where the largest rental market is seasonal rentals, there was no cooperation between real estate brokers like there is with homes for sale. Recently, The Sussex County Association of Realtors added a "Lease Section" but it currently is not populated with many listings.
