IN AND AROUND WILMINGTON
The St. Anthony’s Italian Festival celebrates its 52nd year in Wilmington. It’s a seven-day event driven by amazing cuisine at several restaurants and all kinds of cultural activities and benefits the St. Anthony of Padua Grade School in Wilmington. It takes place between June 7th and 13th.
After being sidelined for nearly a year due to nearby construction, the Constitution Yards Beer Garden is reopening at 303 Justison Street, hopefully by Memorial Day weekend. When complete it will have an elevated Sky Deck, large video screens for entertainment, a field for wiffleball, kickball and more.
After four decades of spring and summer performances , the Clifford Brown Jazz Festival will take place in August this year as part of America’s 250th celebration. It will run from August 2nd to 6th in Rodney Square.
While Wilmington’s Blue Rocks bring MLB magic to the city all summer, several Fireworks Friday events will be especially fun, with major post-game displays scheduled for May 22nd, June 5th, June 19th, June 26th, July 17th, July 24th, August 7th, August 21st and September 4th.
The Juneteenth Freedom Parade and Festival returns to Wilmington on June 13th, beginning with a parade at 11 a.m. from Rodney Square at 1000 N. Market Street at Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park. There will be lots of activities and great food.
IN SELBYVILLE
The Freeman Arts Pavilion has a busy season as one of the state’s most popular event venues. For a full schedule, CLICK HERE. Here are just some of the highlights:
- Vocalist Matteo Bocelli will perform as part of his “Falling in Love World Tour” at 7:30 p.m. on July 8th.
- Country music stars Little Big Town will take the stage at 7 p.m. on July 9th.
- Comedian Kathleen Madigan will carry on her Day Drinking Tour series at 8 p.m. on July 18th.
- New Orleans superstar Trombone Shorty will celebrate Creole music and culture with a 7 p.m. performance on July 24th.
AT THE DELAWARE STATE FAIR IN HARRINGTON
The Delaware State Fair in Harrington is a week-long celebration of Delaware’s rural heritage and one of the locals’ most beloved events. It takes place from July 23rd through August 1st and features all kinds of family fun, from carnival rides to car shows to unique foods. This year’s concert season at the fair is especially exciting, with:
