Winter Months Are The Best Time Begin Your Home Search in Delaware

January and February are great time of year to visit and start your home search in Delaware

The winter months may be the best time to come out of hibernation and come see what Delaware has to offer. Hotel rooms are inexpensive during the off-season, there is less traffic, and you can join the locals in all the great restaurants.

Here are some things you can enjoy this time of year on your visit to Delaware while also making time to find your new home.

Restaurants are Open with Nightly Specials

Locals go out to dine much more often during the off-season. This is the time of year to check out theCheap Eats/Specialsto be found onRehobothFoodie.com. You can find almost any restaurant in Coastal Delaware reviewed and updated on a regular basis. Then you can take a look at the list of specials and dine out every night of the week for less than the cost of cooking a meal at home! Burger nights are popular and some of Bill Bells favorites are the burgers at Striper Bites, Kindle, and The Buttery. Another local restaurant that packs in the crowds for Happy Hour is FishOn! Half off Crab Cakeson Mondaynight and half-priced bottles of wineon Fridaynight are two of my personal favorites.

Off-Season Gallery Openings

The Art Galleries are still open in January and we look forward to Opening Nights at the Rehoboth Art League or The Peninsula Gallery in Lewes. One of the best sources of information on upcoming activities is our own Events Calendar,Southern Delaware Tourismand local Chambers of Commerce websites likeHistoric Lewes Chamber.

Get a Taste of The Delaware Lifestyle

While considering buying a new home in Delaware, one great way to see what it would be like to live here year-round is to visit us now. By the time Presidents Day Weekend hits in February, people are getting itchy about their plans and if the weather gets nice, youll be surprised how busy we get. Normally the winters in Coastal Delaware down near the beach resorts, are mild. Of course, this year is proving to be one of those winters for the record books. I wore a wool coat this month that I have only worn 2 or 3 other times since I moved here in 2000! By next week, I see temperatures coming back to our normal range, so start making your plans.

It is a great time to view homes for sale in both new and existing neighborhoods in Delaware. While we may be busier after Presidents Day Weekend, many of our clients find that visiting in January& February works out very well for them. We just had a couple here from Massachusetts for several days; they found their next home. This month we also welcomed back clients who now live in Arizona. Their home in Arizona is under contract and Bill Bell helped them find their new Delaware home this trip.
