This year I have made a resolution to bring you more relevant information to help you in the buying and selling process. Watch the video above to find out more.

Are you looking for more info about retiring, moving to Delaware and buying a new home? I want to hear from you! The goal of my video series is to provide helpful information for Boomer home buyers and home sellers when making one of the biggest decisions in their life. Please leave us a comment below or contact us about questions you have about moving to Delaware, Active Adult community options, or anything at all.

I searched your blogs to try to find a listing of those communities in the Lewes - Milton area which allow you to purchase the land, when buying a home, versus paying rent for the land forever. I didn't find any information on that.

What a great question Bill. I will speak with my web developer about that and also address your question in one of my weekly videos in the "Ask the Broker" series. We can certainly add a field, I think, for each neighborhood that will identify whether it is a land lease or what is called "Fee Simple" community. Fee Simple means that you also own the land.

Bill, we have now made sure that the field which defines "Ownership" in the MLS is displayed on all homes for sale and displayed on our website. Look on the Primary Features tab to the left of the Customer Remarks, click on that and you will see the Ownership field. You can also do an Advanced Search and click Fee Simple in the Ownership box, just below the big blue Search button. That will make sure that only homes where you own the land will show up in results. We are transitioning in Delaware to a new MLS called Bright that will simplify the entire search process for us and for you. When it is released, I will be doing a Tutorial on all the new features.
