You can find some wonderful ways to celebrate your independence in the 1st State with many OOOhhh's and Ahhhh's guaranteed! Note: Most Delaware towns celebrate on the 4th of July. However, in Rehoboth Beach, this year as in other years, Rehoboth Beach goes rogue and off-calendar, saving the best blast for last, shooting off the big ones on Sunday night, July 5th.

Wilmington Riverfronts Red, White & Blue 4th of July

July 4. FREE. "The Red, White, and Blue July 4th Celebration" takes place in Tubman-Garrett Park beginning at 2pm. Festivities include rides, games, an obstacle course and fireworks at dusk! Watch historical reenactments, listen to the Delaware Symphony Orchestra perform the finale concert leading up to the display-9:45pm. Rain date: July 5.
6th annual Middletown 4th of July Parade and Fireworks

July 4. 10 am/6pm-Free. The Parade steps off at 10am from the Everett Meredith Middle School on South Broad Street, travels up Broad to West Main Street, travels on Main Street to S. Scott Street. At dark, Fireworks over Silver Lake Park, 200 E. Cochran Street, Middletown. Park opens at 6pm.
Fireworks from a Barge in Dewey Beach

July 4. Free at dusk-bayside, fireworks will be set off from a barge in the bay and will be visible from any bar or restaurant along the bayside in Dewey. So, grab a lawn chair or a beach blanket, a Dewey Devil and watch the skies.

July 4. Free historic tours and more is happening in historic Dover on July 4th including a free outdoor concert packed with patriotic tunes on Legislative Mall. Fireworks will blast off at dusk.
Wilmington & Western Railroad Fireworks Express

July 4. Free. Climb aboard the Wilmington & Western Railroads Fireworks Express to Hockessin. Bring your coolers, blankets and folding chairs to watch the display. Please allow 4 hours for the train ride and fireworks show. Reservations are required.
Laurel, Delaware's 4th Festivities
July 4. Free. Enjoy 4th of July festivities with a parade; the Mayor's Cornhole Contest; face painting and a pie-eating contest at Market Square Park. Wrap up the day with afantastic fireworks display at dusk.
Cape May-Lewes Ferry Fireworks Cruise

July 5 to Rehoboth, you'll take the evening boat from Lewes, sail out to the ocean and watch the fireworks from the water! Listen to live music from Glass Onionon the 3rd deck Lido Bar while sailing toward Rehoboth. Catch a spectacular fireworks display from the Ferry. The cruise departs Lewes at 7:15 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 800-643-3779.

The City of Lewes continues its long tradition of hosting old-fashioned games for children and the Lewes Fourth of July Boat Parade, which will wind down the Lewes - Rehoboth canal to Fisherman's Wharf. As part of the holiday festivities, there will also be the Doo-Dah Parade. The day is full of fun and exciting things to do for the whole family! (Please note there are no fireworks at this celebration).
