Mark Harrison, General Manager of Nage Bistro & Wine Bar, is proud to present the 5th Annual Spring Food & Wine Festival on Sunday, April 28th at Nage Bistro & Wine Bar from 4 -7 p.m. This charity event will support the Children's Beach House of Lewes. With wine tastings, food pairings, live music and a local celebrity chef chowda competition there is something for everybody. The Festival will feature over 50 wines from around the world. I have assembled representatives from multiple different wineries in one place for one evening of food, drink, and fun, says Mark Harrison Nage General Manager. Come in and try some terrific wines and, of course, amazing Nage food. Nage executive chef Ted Deptula will pair these wines with an array of seasonal and freshly prepared foods. I look forward to this event year after year, says Deptula. It truly is a great party, aside from getting to prepare delicious foods, I get to taste wines that may not be readily available in our area.So Grab your significant other, your best friend or the whole gang and have the most spectacular Sunday a culinary and food enthusiast can imagine. New this year at the festival is a Chowda Competition. Five of the area's best chefs, Nage chefs then and now, will come together to compete for bragging rights. We are so lucky to have a pool of chef's to pull from for this competition, says Chrissy Sarro Marketing Associate for the Nage organization. All I had to do was ask. The Nage chefs of past and present did not hesitate at all. First and foremost to help out the Children's beach house but to also have the bragging rights. This is a formidable group of chef's, so it would be quite an accomplishment to win, and the trash talking has already bugun. Game on challengers, added Ted Deptula. Prepare to compete for the festival title and get major bragging rights The Chowda Competition will be judged by the Festival's attendees. They will vote by ballot, and will not know which chowder belongs to which chef. The lineup for the chowda competition will include: Chef Ted Deptula current executive chef of Nage Bistro & Wine Bar Chef Kevin Reading executive chef and owner of Abbott ' s Grill (former founder, chef, and owner of Espuma and Nage) James Beard nominee Chef Hari Cameron owner and executive Chef of a .( MUSE ) inspired food and drink Chef Ryan Cunningham Executive Chef of Bones restaurant In the Harrington Casino Chef de' Cuisine Brenton Wallace of Dogfish Head Brewpub In addition to the cooking competition we will also have a wine and food pairing station, blind wine tastings, a create your own wine blend table, and of course live music Harrison adds.
