Health care: the ChristianaCare Middletown emergency department is about 15 minutes away, and Christiana Hospital is about 20 minutes north on Route 1.
Everyday errands: Peach Grove Market is across the road on Mapleton Avenue, and the Acme on East Main Street and Giant in the Dove Run shopping center in Middletown are a short drive.
Outdoors: the Michael Castle Trail along the C&D Canal and Lums Pond State Park are a short drive north.
Getting around: Route 1 runs north across the canal toward Christiana and Wilmington and south toward Dover.
Schools: Appoquinimink School District. Confirm school assignments with the district for any specific address.

Traditions at Whitehall has its own homeowners association.
What the fee covers: 2026 listings show lawn care, snow removal, trash, common area maintenance, the clubhouse, the pool and the recreation facilities.
Recent figures: 2026 listings show the HOA fee at about $179 to $190 a month.
At settlement: check the resale certificate, or the builder's contract on a new home, for any one-time capital contribution.
