Bayfront is all single family homes, most on roughly half acre homesites, ranging from around 1,800 square feet to well over 4,000. What began with local builders finished with homes by Schell Brothers, Insight Homes, Foxlane Homes and several custom builders, so the streetscape has a variety you will not find in a one builder community. Quality construction was a theme from the start: hardi plank siding, two by six exterior walls, conditioned crawl spaces and side loaded garages are common throughout.

The floor plans further down this page are from the community's original build out. We keep them as a reference because this kind of history is hard to find anywhere else.

Bayfront broke ground in the late 2000s, and the timing was hard. The market downturn slowed sales, and by 2011 only a few dozen homes stood on about 180 planned homesites. What felt like a setback then reads as a gift now. The community filled in gradually over more than a decade, finishing with Schell Brothers, Insight Homes and Foxlane Homes, which means mature landscaping, preserved trees and varied architecture instead of rows of identical homes built in a single year. And the amenities promised at the start, the beach, the pool, the clubhouse, were all delivered.

Bayfront sits on Rehoboth Bay a short drive from both of the towns it is named between: about ten miles to downtown Lewes and about nine to the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk. Everyday shopping, restaurants and medical care are closer still, and the quieter position away from the resort corridor means summer traffic is something you visit, not something you live in.

Bayfront has an active homeowners association that maintains the private beach, pool, clubhouse and common grounds. Dues and what they cover change from year to year, so we do not publish numbers that could go stale. Ask us for the current figures on any home you are considering, along with the HOA documents. Life here centers on the water. Summer evenings on the private beach, kayaks going in at the community launch, the pool in season, and walking trails through the preserved woods the rest of the year. It is a settled community with the quiet confidence of a place that finished what it set out to build.
