Resales: every home for sale here is a resale, so condition and updates vary from house to house.
Vacant lots: a few vacant lots have come up for sale, such as two on Shirling Lane listed in 2025 at about $300,000 to $330,000, with no builder tie-in.
Building on a lot: a buyer of a vacant lot picks the builder, and the plans still go through the community's architectural rules.

Retreat at Love Creek has a Lewes mailing address but sits outside the Lewes city limits, in unincorporated Sussex County.
Beaches: Rehoboth Beach is about seven miles away, and Lewes Beach and Cape Henlopen State Park are about eight.
Health care: Beebe's main hospital on Savannah Road in Lewes is about six miles away, and Beebe's Rehoboth health campus with the Specialty Surgical Hospital is on Route 24.
Everyday errands: the grocery stores and shops at Five Points and along Route 1 are a short drive.
Schools: Cape Henlopen School District. Confirm school assignments with the district for any specific address.

Retreat at Love Creek has one homeowners association.
What the fees cover: common area maintenance, management, the pool and clubhouse, the pier, road maintenance and reserves.
Recent figures: 2025 and 2026 listings show the fee at about $475 a quarter.
At settlement: check the resale certificate for any one-time transfer or capital fee.

Maintenance: the association handles the common areas. Owners care for their own homes and yards.
