Kathy Sperl-Bell Associate Broker, REALTOR®, ABR, SRES

Born in New York and raised in Northern NJ, Kathy started her career in the travel industry with Air France and TWA as an International Flight Attendant, traveling extensively in the U.S. and Europe. She then spent several years in Hotel Sales Management, but seeing the future in the computer industry, Kathy accepted a management position at the Computer Store in Massachusetts in 1978. In 1983 she joined Compaq Computer Corporation in Houston, Texas where she held several executive positions in Corporate Sales and Marketing; she then moved to the DC Metropolitan area where she became the District Sales Manager for Compaq.  Kathy continued her high-tech career with Wang Laboratories as the Area Manager in their PC Division, also in Washington, DC.

After ten years in the travel industry and almost 25 years in the technology industry, it was time for a change. After living in NYC, Boston, Houston, Northern Virginia and Suburban Maryland in the DC Metropolitan Area, one of the most important factors in choosing Delaware was its central location within the Mid-Atlantic Region. “I first discovered the Delaware Beaches while I was living in the DC area and spent many weekends over the years exploring the area’s beaches and towns.”

Kathy escaped the Beltway, moved to Delaware in 2000 and became a licensed Realtor in 2001. “My Boomer career started purely by accident, I saw an ad in the paper for an Internet Business Development Specialist at a large independent real estate company." The rest is her-story.

Kathy met her husband and business partner, Bill Bell, a Delaware native, at the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival in 2000. They decided to take the plunge, marry and work their Delaware real estate business together.

Kathy is now an Associate Broker at Active Adults Realty. She is a Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES®) and a past member of the Senior Advantage Real Estate Council (SAREC®).

Kathy keeps active with, “work, work and more work… plus walking or biking in Cape Henlopen State Park, many stress-relieving yoga classes and pickleball.”
